چکیده

Background and aims – Species delimitation is a necessary investigation for widely distributed species. Examination of herbarium specimens descriptions in local floras revealed that two forms Silene villosa were recognized. Form B S. has been identified as separate species named wendelboi . However, the latter was not treated floras. By using molecular tools, we investigated if these should be distinct or retained Material methods We created datasets containing 84 46 accessions nrDNA ITS cpDNA rps16 regions, respectively, which extracted mainly from GenBank. Phylogenies reconstructed Maximum Likelihood Bayesian analyses. Key results propose are species, morphologically phylogenetically. first recognized SW Iran but show Persian Gulf E Mediterranean region well. In most cases, erroneously regions. The distribution much wider, also occurring Asia North Africa, Egypt, Algeria. differs calyx texture, length, ratio length to pedicel, shape apex coronal scale, seed morphology, data, i.e. sequences. Based on those markers, closely related ayachica , while shows affinity arabica

Phylogenetic relationships in Ranunculus species (Ranunculaceae) based on nrDNA ITS and cpDNA trnL-F sequences

The genus Ranunculus L., with a worldwide distribution, is the largest member of the Ranunculaceae. Here, nuclear ribosomal internal transcribed spacer (ITS) sequence data and chloroplast trnLF sequence data were used to analyze phylogenetic relationships among members of the annual and perennial (Group Praemorsa, Group Rhizomatosa, Group Grumosa and Group non-Grumosa) species of Ranunculus...

in Silene latifolia (Caryophyllaceae)

• Sex ratio polymorphism has been extensively studied in Silene latifolia, but it is neither known whether inbreeding (which is likely to occur under field conditions) affects it nor which of the proposed mechanisms (Y degeneration, X-linked drive) is more important. Both mechanisms predict reduced pollen performance. • In this study, females were crossed with pollen from related and unrelated ...

Correction: Marginal Likelihood Estimate Comparisons to Obtain Optimal Species Delimitations in Silene sect. Cryptoneurae (Caryophyllaceae)

Coalescent-based inference of phylogenetic relationships among species takes into account gene tree incongruence due to incomplete lineage sorting, but for such methods to make sense species have to be correctly delimited. Because alternative assignments of individuals to species result in different parametric models, model selection methods can be applied to optimise model of species classific...

Phylogenetic relationships within Chamaecrista sect. Xerocalyx (Leguminosae, Caesalpinioideae) inferred from the cpDNA trnE-trnT intergenic spacer and nrDNA ITS sequences

Chamaecrista belongs to subtribe Cassiinae (Caesalpinioideae), and it comprises over 330 species, divided into six sections. The section Xerocalyx has been subjected to a profound taxonomic shuffling over the years. Therefore, we conducted a phylogenetic analysis using a cpDNA trnE-trnT intergenic spacer and nrDNA ITS/5.8S sequences from Cassiinae taxa, in an attempt to elucidate the relationsh...
